Five stadiums to be used
Five football venues will be provided for the best youth teams in Donetsk region. These are Donbas-Arena, RSC Olympiyskiy and Metalurh stadium in Donetsk, Illichivets and Zakhidny stadiums in Mariupol. Lately, they were inspected by Eurosport channel that will broadcast nine tournament matches live, according to vice president of regional federation Ivan Haivoronsky.
Players to dwell in Atlas and Spartak hotels He also revealed the list of hotels where competition participants, delegations members, referees, official representatives and UEFA honored guests will be staying. According to UEFA, the players should not be spread around the city − they are to live in one single place. In Donetsk they will stay at Atlas hotel, and Mariupol will welcome them in Spartak hotel. The latter place is also picked up by UEFA headquarters and Organizing Committee. Others will be accommodated at Donetsk hotels as Liverpool, Eva, Victory and Donbas-Palace.
Enough place for everybody The tournament staging requires one important aspect more − training pitches. The teams will hold their training sessions at FC Olympic, FC Tytan and FC Metalurh stadiums, all located in Donetsk. In Mariupol, Azovets stadium and two pitches of FC Illichivets will be available for footballers’ services. It’s worth noting that UEFA will reimburse a considerable part of expenses package, including pitch rent, housing, and transportation of the participants.
Stars to hold draw The preliminary date of tournament draw is scheduled on June 12. Haivoronsky revealed that the official ceremony will feature football stars of Donbas region. We remind that the UEFA EURO 2009 (U-19) final will take place from July 21 to August 2.
